Travelling:

Nearest airport is Faro airport (30km). The tournament shuttle bus drives from and to the airport (10€). Public transport from the airport to Santa Luzia is possible but it takes longer and is more expensive. Car hire is very comfortable and with the support of the tournament organisation cheap. Airport taxi to Santa Luzia (50€). Drive from Airport to the village takes 35-45 minutes. Taxi Santa Luzia - Tavira is 4€. The airport of Sevilla (Spain) is 180km. There is a daily public bus to Tavira. It takes 2 hours and cost € 20. The airport of Lisbon is 280km. There are daily trains and busses and it takes 5 hours and cost € 20. In Santa Luzia you can rent a bike for € 25 per week. There are daily flights from Lisbon, Porto and Madrid to Faro.

If you want to fly for a price below 50 € one way, you should wait until after July and sign up for the Ryanair Specials "e-mail messages.
During the end of the summer Transavia will come with action prices. Sign up for "Action" e-mails.
Early flight ordering is mostly more expensive but gives confidence, and you will have certitude.

Fly advice 3th Tavira-Open (17-22 Oct.) Ryanair flights to Faro are more expensive than usual because autumn holidays in the Netherlands and Germany. But there is an excellent solution for low budget travelers. First fly to London Stansted, Paris, Madrid or Porto. From there there are cheap Ryanair flights to Faro. Cheap travel back with a direct flight is usually possible. The best time to buy cheap Ryanair flights is 4 to 6 weeks before departure! Easyjet 3 months before departure!
